I was writing in Ante Up! last month and looked up the reference for “taking every thought captive…” Can I just say, whoa? I always think of that Scripture in light of fixing my mind on Jesus. Not letting my thoughts run away with me. Not lying to myself. Controlling where my thoughts go and returning them to a “Philippians 4:8” place. I got a big surprise. Why did I never notice the context before? These were the notes I took as I studied how to use them in the book.
Note: Tiny correction. See that I Corinthians? It was supposed to have II like that. But um… I think I got distracted. Ahem. Forgive me? Please? Lie if necessary?
Did you catch all those “I don’t knows?” Look. Don’t let me or anyone else tell you I (or likely anyone else for that matter) has it all figured out. There are wiser people than I–those who know the original languages and can look at that and see what I’m missing. But even those people can make mistakes. Learn from others, but always keep focused on the Lord and His Word. THEY are the only things that are never wrong. 😀
