What Others Are Saying About Wynnewood:

“I like the mystery surrounding Dove, and of course, the dragon. I’m happy that there will be multiple books so the mystery keeps coming.  I enjoyed Philip’s story about becoming an archer and the different places he was able to go to learning about it.  I’d like to do that.”  ~Jonah in CO

~~~*~~~*~~~
“It’s Awesome!  I can’t wait for the sequel.  It’s so exciting because it’s about a girl and a boy who have adventures.  I love adventures especially those that are fantasy.”   Mitchell in WV
~~~*~~~*~~~

“It is exciting; you want to read more and more and more. Has she finished the second one yet?  It was like a mystery and I love a good mystery.”  Mary in NC

~~~*~~~*~~~
“We have enjoyed reading Shadows and Secrets aloud as a family.  Our children cannot wait for the sequel to make its debut.  Thanks for blessing us through your writing!”  The “M” family in AL
~~~*~~~*~~~

“I’m looking forward to Volume II. Chautona really created a wonderful world where values mean something. Children not only get to take a great adventure into a different world, they learn what it is to be both human and humane. I had a wonderful time reading this story to my six-year-old son, who loves fantasy already. Now, he’s a huge fan of Wynnwood!”  DT in FL

~~~*~~~*~~~
“This is a wonderful story that takes you into a mildly fantastical land (meaning minus the magic and witches) that is filled with adventure and fun. Rich characters and detailed imagery make this a fantastic read. This book will certainly help instill in your child(ren) a love of reading.”  Christy in MO
~~~*~~~*~~~

“I really enjoyed this historical fiction/fantasy young adult novel. The setting is Medieval Northern England and is very realistic. There just also happens to dragons near the village.”  Stacy via LibraryThing

~~~*~~~*~~~
“My son adored Shadows and Secrets. He jammed through it in a day or two. He really liked the way you built the setting and made Wynnewood come alive. He thought your characters were well-formed. It left him longing for more – and he is eagerly awaiting the next installment.  As for the rest of us, its on the top of our ‘read-aloud’ list – – and the girls have been studying the map in preparation for our reading!!”    A family in CA
Episode 57: A Chat with Women's Fiction Author Cynthia Ruchti
by Chautona Havig
One of the best ways to temper the heaviness of a book dealing with hard subjects is the judicious use of humor.  Cynthia Ruchti is a new author to me (forgive my stupidity, won’t you?) but the brilliant use of humor to open this novel set up a beautiful way to see the personality of a character before her world was turned upside down–genius.
Facing the Dawn should be on every women’s fiction lover’s “next to read” list or at the top of the tottering TBR piles.
This is one of my favorite books I've ever written This is one of my favorite books I've ever written.  I spent a lot of time watching, processing, studying, and then using fiction to show the damage we as the church do when we elevate our method of serving the Lord over the PRINCIPLE of service in general.  After seeing family after family slaughtered by unrealistic expectations that weren't Biblically mandated, the Argosy family was born.  They just never knew what was coming when Matt appeared, ready to embrace their world and shake it up at the same time.
