If You Loved Rain, Whirlwind Might Blow It Out of the Water

Remember 2020?  No not for that reason. I'm talking to Christian fiction readers here.  You couldn't blink without seeing a cover--one specific cover--and hearing people rave about the book. Rain by Dana McNeely. Yeah, I was one of those people, and I kept ignoring it. Why? Because I'm an idiot, Continue Reading

Waiting on the Tides

What Do Love, Forgiveness, and Trust Have to Do with a Good Book?

My dad was probably drunk the night he said the worst things anyone has ever said to me. I can still hear the guttural growl as he spewed horrible accusations on a girl who had made a foolish, new mom mistake. Truth is, I hadn't known any better, Challice was fine (thanks to the Lord's mercy), and Continue Reading

Kristen Hogrefe Parnell

Riveting Suspense That’ll Make You Need Your Own Trauma Therapist!

Kristen Hogrefe Parnell started off writing YA suspense, moved to YA dystopian, and now has a romantic suspense series coming out in just a few days! Crossroads Suspense kicks off December 5, 2022, with Take My Hand. Listen in and see why her premise hooked me at the word "mafia." Note: links Continue Reading

Andy Dewitt Gates of Hell

Watch Out! This Book Will Send You on a Wild Ride through Palestine!

When I saw the title... The Gates of Hell, I had an image of what the cover would look like. Dark... ominous... and a whole lot of red. Well, I was partially right and pleasantly surprised. I mean, this cover is unique, appears to be spot on, and yet unexpected, too. I like that combination. Then Continue Reading

A Christmas Repair

Nothing Says Merry Christmas Like Love, a Dare & a Pink Apron

One thing I love about Lila Diller's writing is how strong faith elements are at the core of every book. So, when I saw she wrote a Christmas novel, well... YEAH!  Her A Christmas Repair is out, and I've already started it. So far, I like these characters. Okay, I'm not super fond of Jessica, but I Continue Reading

This Exciting New Series Adds Virtue to Faith and Romance!

Historical romance author, Edwina Kiernan, kicks off a nine-book series with her recent release, The Letter. With each book focusing on one element of the fruit of the Spirit, the Victorian Virtues series takes place in the fictional market town of Lindenfell and even features the daughter of a main Continue Reading

Who Doesn’t Love an “Enemies to Love” Romance with Salvation Mixed In?

A few months ago, one of my readers emailed me about a friend who had a book coming out soon and that led to learning all about Elizabeth Marie and her new series, the "Love Series," beginning with Love Under Investigation. Listen in and see what prompted an ex-atheist to take up writing Continue Reading

Crazy Things Happen When Science, Greed, and Love Collide in This New Book

The cover drew me in at first, even before I read the synopsis. It had that White Collar vibe, and the tagline, "if you can't invent it, steal it," only served to make me jump at the chance to review it. Who wouldn't? note: links may be affiliate links that provide me with a small commission Continue Reading

Carmen Schober Pretty Little Pieces

Don’t Home Renovations and Snipers Sound Like an Explosive Romance?

Only I could read someone's debut novel and not know it until she starts describing it, so listen in to find out what book Carmen Schober wrote that I didn't know I read. But on top of that, she talks about her upcoming release, Pretty Little Pieces, and the fun characters in there, as well as the Continue Reading

If You Love a Good Cinderella Story Here’s One with a New Twist

It all began with maple cheesecake. I don't know if it was actually in the book, or if she just got me thinking about it, but when I read Buying Love by Toni Shiloh it not only made me hungry for something I'd never had before, it also introduced me to an author who would become a dear friend. For Continue Reading

Blind Trust Natalie Walters

Are You Ready for a Reckless, Wild, Riveting Series Finale?

I was introduced to Natalie Walters through her first book, Living Lies, and as I chatted with her about her upcoming release, Blind Trust, I realized the reason the second book in that series felt different (and I stopped reading) was because I actually listened to the first book on audiobook! Continue Reading

The Bookshop of Secrets by Mollie Rushmeyer

Could Your Favorite Books Contain Secrets You Didn’t Know About?

The Bookshop of Secrets. The cover grabbed me almost as quickly as the title did. I mean, come on. What could be better? Then I got an early copy from the publisher and read it like a crazy woman. Here's a hint.  The inside... the inside is even better than the title and the cover combined. For a Continue Reading

When I knew Lauren would be one of my protagonists When I knew Lauren would be one of my protagonists of this year's New Cheltenham novel, I knew she'd have to be reading some mystery. She's been on Poirot kicks and Marple kicks. Josephine Tey and I think Elizabeth Peters. This year, I decided she'd REALLY love one of my favorite mystery series--the Lord Edgington Investigates by @benedictbrownauthor If you love mystery, they're a lot of fun. What I didn't know is that practical, prosaic Lauren would disgust herself when she realized she has a "book boyfriend" in Christopher Prentiss. Even her actual boyfriend knows her secret crush on a fictional young man from the 1920s.
This year's Christmas Lights Collection is the 10th we've done! We're so proud of it! Four towns battle it out in a Christmas Lights Showcase you won't want to miss. Join @JayceeWeaver , @lainaturnerauthor , @CatheSwanson and me in this year's battle of the lights!
And seriously, if you love mysteries, don't miss Benedict Brown's. He's brilliant and Christopher is awesome. Lauren has that right. ;)
Releases October 7th!!
