I had a delightful chat with Rachel Fordham about her books–especially her latest release A Lady in Attendance. We discussed her favorite part of writing and especially how authors’ books reflect what the Lord is doing in our lives at the time we write them.

Since that conversation, I’ve examined several of my books, trying to see what He is doing in my life, and it’s illuminating. No one but me could usually pinpoint it–things aren’t that direct.

From seeing people in the past as fellow humans and realizing how similar our lives really are to theirs at the core, to understanding life through those similarities, Rachel’s books cut to the core of humanity and show the beauty of what God can do with those characters.
