An Amish Buggy Ride Giveaway!

Amish fiction isn't always my favorite, but I found an interesting story that I really enjoyed in Sarah Price's An Amish Buggy Ride. via @chautonahavig

An Amish Buggy Ride Review

I just finished An Amish Buggy Ride by Sarah Price, and I am excited to share it with you.  Sarah has written an engaging story with a deeper meaning.

Here’s my review:

I didn’t really know what to expect when I started this book. Amish fiction can often feel repetitive, but Sarah’s novel delves deep into the flaws we all face in life–bad choices, not accepting responsibility for those choices, and wrongly accepting responsibility for others’ choices.

Additionally, she ALSO shows that we aren’t lone sheep floundering alone on a hillside somewhere. We do have others to help us–to encourage us to do the right thing when our own flaws blind us to what the right thing is.

But aside from the lessons hidden within a gentle, tender story, the authenticity with which Sarah writes adds an extra layer to the novel. She added just enough authentic Pennsylvania Dutch to the book to keep it feeling like you ARE in Lancaster County without burdening the pages with unfamiliar words.

One of the things I loved most was the careful description.

From nature, to food, to clothing, to the details of everyday life, Sarah shares exactly enough detail to place you there and make you feel like you can see it without burdening you with a laundry list of things to note.

If you want a spiritually uplifting and thought-provoking story with an authentic peek into the diverse world of the Amish (they aren’t the cookie cutter people the “English” seem to think), An Amish Buggy Ride might just be the book you’re looking for. Add to it a gentle romance, and you have a delightful way to spend a nippy fall afternoon. 🙂

I received this book free with no expectations upon me, but I chose to review it after reading and enjoying it.

I’d love to be entered in this contest. I’ve been reading Sarah’s books for quite some time, and she’s good! I’m happy for her to have become a true novelist with her latest releases! Kudos!

I only discovered Sarah’s awesome writings about a year ago . With that being said, it is difficult to find and purchase her books. I still prefer to hold my book in my hands while reading and no one locally carries her work, : ( therefor I have to drive 40 miles to the nearest Barnes and Nobles and special order it… So to win this new release would be awesome!!!!!

I don’t believe I’ve read anything by Sarah Price! But I do love “Amish” stories!

Episode 591: A Chat with Jenny McLeod Carlisle
byChautona Havig

There are just not enough “rodeo” books out there, but Jenny McLeod Carlisle has climbed into the saddle and… yeah. I tried to do something other than “stepped up to the plate,” but it didn’t work. Anyway, you get the gist. Listen in to get the story about the story!

Family relationships can be hard, so maybe that’s why stories that explore them resonate so well. Stepping up when things are falling apart means doing hard things, and hard things make great stories. Throw in a horse or three and…

Hope Takes the Reins by Jenny McLeod Carlisle

They’ve spent their lives in the middle—now everything is asking them to step up.

O.D. Billings has always lived in the shadow of his brothers. Even his name feels like something to hide behind. But when his family’s future begins to unravel, O.D. is forced to take the reins in ways he never expected.

Hope Caldwell is doing everything she can to hold her family together after the loss of her mother. The rodeo that’s been her whole world is slipping through her fingers, and the future she counted on is suddenly uncertain.

Because someone is ready to walk away. And everything she loves is at risk of disappearing.

As lifelong neighbors, O.D. and Hope have always known each other—but now they’re seeing each other in a whole new light. With pressure mounting from every direction, they find themselves leaning on each other in ways neither anticipated.

But stepping forward means facing fears they’ve spent years avoiding. And trusting that God’s plan might look very different than their own.

In a world of dust, determination, and second chances, Hope Takes the Reins is a heartfelt story of courage, calling, and discovering that sometimes the middle is exactly where you’re meant to be.

Will they keep running from who they’ve always been…or finally step into who they’re meant to become?

Find love, purpose, and the courage to take the reins. Start reading today.

At twenty-six, Abbi would much rather spend Christmas surrounded by history and art than dealing with another holiday full of family expectations.

So when she gets the chance to spend Christmas at Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, it feels like the perfect escape.

Snow. A magnificent castle. A celebration of Christmases past.

What could possibly go wrong?

Or perhaps the better question is…

**Who might she find there?** 👻❤️
