I really did think I’d arrived. I consider books at garage sales to be gold nuggets among the junk that usually surrounds them. I’ve purchased some of my favorite books at garage sales!
However, today I got a cool email. A woman sent me a lovely note confessing that she had been sitting in her local library, reading a borrowed copy of Argosy Junction, and inadvertently left it in her seat. When she returned to retrieve it, the book was gone. She searched, the library searched (even looking on the shelves in case it had been put there by a well-meaning employee or patron), but the book was gone. Now, it is important to note that this was not a “library book.” It was a personally signed copy belonging to this woman’s friend. However, I can now say that…
My book was stolen from the library!!!!
Oh, yeah. I’ve really arrived now. *pumps fist*
