Want a Great Gift for You and a Friend? The Nutcracker’s Suite Giveaway!

by Chautona Havig · 4 Comments

Just in time for Christmas, The Nutcracker's Suite Giveaway offers a prize package including a book to share with a friend (if you like)! via @chautonahavig

I don’t know about you, but at Christmastime, I love a good mystery. If I can combine that mystery with something festive, well… yeah!  And I have a lot of friends who feel the same. So… I decided to do a giveaway! I’m calling it The Nutcracker’s Suite Giveaway. You could say it’s a “suite” giveaway, but I’d say it’s a sweet one! (Anyone have chocolate nutcrackers lying around?)

Want a Great Gift for You and a Friend? The Nutcracker’s Suite Giveaway!

What is Christmas without nutcrackers, crazy dreams, Chinatown, racing through the streets, and trying to avoid Tommy guns…. wait…

Sorry, not too much of a spoiler there I hope! (I mean, it’s on the cover, right?)

Last year, my Black Friday release was The Nutcracker’s Suite–one of the Ever After Mysteries. I had so much fun putting the different aspects of the story into the book. Some were much more overt than others, but it’s there… broken nutcrackers, the race “around the world,” the Mouse King, the battles…

One thing I wanted to do last year was to do this giveaway, but then I thought, “why not wait until the audiobook is done?”  Well… it’s done. And Christa DelSorbo OUTDID HERSELF.

Guys! This book!  You can check it out on Amazon but it’s available at ANY retailer that offers audiobooks! Even Spotify has it now!  EEEP! Listen through Hoopla, Google Play, Scribd, Apple Books, or wherever you like to get your audiobooks.

So… what will you win?  Glad you asked!

The winner will receive:

The Nutcracker's Suite Giveaway

  • 1 Paperback copy of The Nutcracker’s Suite
  • 1 Audiobook copy of The Nutcracker’s Suite
  • 1 Leatherette collectible copy of The Nutcracker (by Dumas)
  • 1 Wooden “Mouse King” bookmark

This prize package is all wrapped and ready to ship to one winner (USA addresses only… sorry!). Just enter the giveaway and you’ll have a copy of the book to share with a friend and POSSIBLY (no promises… I mean, the Post Office is a bit overwhelmed these days) even by Christmas!

And hey! Don’t forget to tell a friend to enter The Nutcracker’s Suite Giveaway. That way, if you don’t win… maybe he or she will–and share!

WARNING: Late-nite huckster alert!

But wait! There’s more!

The publisher, Celebrate Lit Publishing, wanted to get in on the act, so they’re putting the paperback on sale for $7.99 (20% off!! starting 12/13/22) AND… the eBook is FREE from 12/13/22 through 12/17/22! I’ll honor that paperback sale if you wish to purchase a signed copy from me, but I will have to add shipping, so it’ll make it a bit more. But hey! It’s Christmas, so I’m happy to do it! (While copies last!)

Episode 543: A Chat with Stephanie Cardel
byChautona Havig

I love it when YA deals with real issues kids face, so I was crazy excited to hear about Stephanie Cardel’s This Isn’t Shakespeare. From what direction her life should go to peer pressure of various kinds, Cardel weaves a story that I feel is important. Listen in and learn why.

This Isn’t Shakespeare by Stephanie Cardel

To be or not to be…a professional dancer. Seventeen-year-old Madison is a hopeless romantic who loves quoting Shakespeare and dreams of becoming a professional ballet dancer—a dream she hides, afraid of disappointing her mom and her boyfriend. But when her dreams fall apart, she believes it’s a sign from God that she should commit to her boyfriend and make a new dream. When she realizes God wouldn’t give her a sign that points her to sin, the happily-ever-after she’s planned crumbles. Now Madison must confront the lies she’s told herself and all the red flags she’s ignored. In the process, she begins to understand that seeking God’s will may not lead to a perfectly scripted ending—but it might just lead to something real.

Ever notice how you best know yourself--and know y Ever notice how you best know yourself--and know yourself the least? We humans are weird that way. Sometimes I think the Lord allows us to be blind to parts of ourselves for a time so as not to drive us too crazy too quickly. Or something.
Characters most like me are hard because they're so very convicting to write AND... because I don't usually know it's me until that conviction its. I tend to have an idealized picture of who I am until reality strips away those rosy glasses and leaves me with crystal-clear vision. Blech.
Second to me... I'd say nasty people. They give me such an ick feeling. Sure, it's cathartic... but it's so hard because I want to redeem everyone, and that's just unrealistic and frankly, arrogant. So... there you have it.
If you have a question you want me to answer, leave it in the comments OR... zip me an email at chautona@chautona.com. I'll try to work them in (and will probably combine those that are really similar.
