Restored Grace, the next book in Kathleen J. Robison's Bay Town Series releases in June and we talk about what readers can expect. via @chautonahavig

Restored Grace, the second book of the Bay Town Series by romantic suspense author, Kathleen Robison, releases in almost a month.  Learn about her characters and some of their inspirations in this book.  Don’t miss out on the bonus short story she’s giving away with preorders and the peek into an upcoming Christmas novella, too!

What Wonderful Author Combines Romantic Suspense and Women’s Fiction Elements?

I first met Kathleen J. Robison at an ACFW meeting in Orange County. This sweet-natured homeschool mom of quite a few children had something in common with me beside the homeschool mom of many bit (I was reading the day God handed out sweet spirits… or something). She wrote incessantly and with eclectic tastes.  What I didn’t expect was to find that romantic suspense would be her debut niche.

And boy has she rocked that niche! Beginning with a prequel novella (Revived Hope) that deals with criminal intimidation and family trouble, she then tackled one of the toughest subjects to deal with–human trafficking (Shattered Guilt). The next book in this Bay Town Series, Restored Grace, is releasing next month, and oooh… boy.  Wait’ll you get to know these characters.  Good guys, bad guys, difficult folks, sweet–she’s got them all and not one flat, carbon copy of anyone else in the lot.

Kathleen also talks about her upcoming Christmas novellas and even the books she’s reading.

They promised Jesus would be with her through everything, but is that enough?

Free-spirited vintage thrift shop owner, Carol Scape, wallowed in grief after her boyfriend’s murder. However, with newfound faith, she’s finding out what it means to die to self and put others first. Even if it could cost her life.

Carol is on a mission to save a runaway teen and an at-risk girl from Will Boudreaux, the man just released from jail for running a prostitution ring. The same man who previously terrorized Bay Town residents. Can’t the town get a break? Can’t she?

She’s up for the challenge, but when sparks ignite between her and the town mayor, it muddles things. Having sworn off men, he’s getting in the way of what she feels she must do. Or is he?

Restored Grace is the second book of the Bay Town Series, continuing one year after Shattered Guilt. It’s a stand-alone, amped-up, romantic suspense. Buckle your seat belt. You’re in for a ride.

Episode 483: A Chat with Sarah Loudin Thomas
byChautona Havig

When I looked at the cover of These Blue Mountains by Sarah Loudin Thomas, I couldn’t help but think of the cover from the early editions of Anne of Green Gables. Listen in to see what Sarah has to say about that.

We talked about so much that I have a hard time remembering everything, but I loved hearing about how Sarah writes the stories that inspired previous books and her next one, too.

Inspired by the book, The German Invasion of Western North Carolina by Jacqueline Burgin Painter

These Blue Mountains by Sarah Loudin Thomas

A moving story of love, betrayal, and the enduring power of hope in the face of darkness. German pianist Hedda Schlagel’s world collapsed when her fiancé, Fritz, vanished after being sent to an enemy alien camp in the United States during the Great War. Fifteen years later, in 1932, Hedda is stunned to see Fritz’s name in a photograph of an American memorial for German seamen who died near Asheville, North Carolina. Determined to reclaim his body and bring closure to his ailing mother, Hedda travels to the US. Her quest takes a shocking turn when, rather than Fritz’s body, his casket contains the remains of a woman who died under mysterious circumstances. Local deputy Garland Jones thought he’d left that dark chapter behind when he helped bury Fritz Meyer’s coffin. The unexpected arrival of Hedda, a long-suffering yet captivating woman, forces him to confront how much of the truth he really knows. As they work together to uncover the identity of the woman in the casket and to unravel Fritz’s fate, Hedda and Garland grow closer. But with Hedda in the US on borrowed time while Hitler rises to power in Germany, she fears she’ll be forced to return home before she can put the ghosts of her past to rest.
