Feelin’ the Love

So, one of the most amazing things about writing is seeing other people get wrapped up in your work.  I love it when I get a ding from a friend online and read, "Hey, got any more ___" (fill in the blank).  It's just the most amazing thing  to see others not just willing to read what you wrote, but Continue Reading

Book Signing~

Every time I publish a book, friends and I go out to lunch for a "Book Signing."  This time, I came prepared. My friends!  From left to right.  Lupe, Glenda (her husband is where I got the name Verily for Noble Pursuits),  Teresa (my partner in so many "crimes") and me. Signing Lupe's Continue Reading

Craig Worrell: Sketchy Guy (Part 5)

Stay tuned at the end of the interview for more information on Craig, his website, and the blog where he showcases his recent work. What do you suggest to people who want to learn how to draw more accurately?  Are there any books you recommend?  Videos?  Online classes?  Correspondence Continue Reading

Craig Worrell: Interview (Part 4)

Now we're getting into the visual aspect of it all.  Let's SEE just what this guy is and who he admires.  Let's really rip the soul from his creativity and examine it... umm no.... let's not and let's not say we did.  That was just... well... Yeah.  How about a nice simple question like, who his Continue Reading

Craig Worrell: Interview (Part 3)

Oh, we're gettin' to the good stuff.  The nitty gritty, and I think that's appropriate.  After all, life in medieval times was very nitty (lice) and gritty (grime).  It works.  Just sayin', but it works.  Onto the interesting stuff! What kinds of things do you enjoy drawing most?  (Portraits, Continue Reading

Craig Worrell: Interview (Part 2)

Well, after reading that his friend calls him an illustrationIST, I felt a little guilty using the "tor" so I went for both.  That way, everyone is happy... or no one is.  I'm good either way.  I think I got gypped by the way.  I doodled... and I can't draw a crooked line! When did you start Continue Reading

Craig Worrell: Illustrator (Part 1)

Last September, I got a phone call.  Now, anyone who knows me knows how much I love the phone.  *cough*  Picture it.  Ethan is trying to convince me he's paying close attention to his math book while Wall-E plays in the background.  Andra is STILL clearing the counters from lunch, and Lorna is... Reposted from @catheswanson Charlea Evans thought Reposted from @catheswanson Charlea Evans thought she had finally put her unconventional past behind her.

Now a widow with a college-age daughter and a promising new career within reach, she's worked hard to build a respectable life far removed from Serenity Hill—the quirky former commune where her free-spirited mother still lives. But when a devastating house fire destroys her home and everything she owns, Charlea finds herself with nowhere else to turn.

Reluctantly, she returns to the farm she thought she'd escaped forever, trading independence for her childhood bedroom, milking goats, tending chickens, and counting the days until she can afford a place of her own. Then an accident lands her mother in the hospital, leaving Charlea responsible for managing the property and overseeing an ambitious new venture.
Her mother and daughter have plans of their own. Big plans. Plans to transform Serenity Hill into a seasonal market and destination for workshops, events, and community gatherings. Helping bring the vision to life is Drew Wallace—the man who stole her heart on a single unforgettable date fifteen years ago.

As she works to keep the project moving forward, Charlea finds herself confronting old hurts, long-held assumptions, and the family history she's spent years trying to leave behind. With old dreams awakening and new possibilities taking root, she begins to wonder if Serenity Hill holds the answers she's been searching for. She must decide whether she's willing to risk her heart again—and whether the future she carefully planned can compete with the one God may have been preparing for her all along.

Coming home is the last thing Charlea wants—but it may be the beginning of everything she's been searching for.

Something New is the first book in the Serenity Hill series.
