I was twelve the first time someone challenged what I believed. She wasn’t confident that a bunch of old guys hadn’t just made up the Bible on their own. The heresy in that idea appalled me. That’s when that yelling began. We stood there in her house, screaming at one another. I distinctly remember an obscenity flung out into the abyss. As the godly, young Christian girl I was, I flung it back at her.
Because that’s how you win friends and influence people… for Jesus.
I went home and told my mother about it. Full disclosure, I’m pretty sure I left out the bit about the obscenity. Just keepin’ it real.
I said, “She said, ‘What if some old dudes just made it all up?'”
Mom just looked at me.
“I don’t believe that!” I insisted.
Mom nodded. I waited. She turned back to fixing dinner. “So, who cares what she thinks?”
Look, I get Mom’s point. I do. My faith isn’t dependent on whether someone else shares it. She’s right.
But I didn’t like the idea that I might not be able to convince her to give Jesus her heart. That was kind of the point of what had started that argument in the first place. I wanted to convince her of the rightness of a life yielded to Christ. There was only one problem.
I didn’t know how.

How Do You Explain Jesus to the Lost?
Well, I can tell you how not to. Don’t scream it to your intended convert at the top of your lungs, and don’t include obscenities. Just sayin’.
This book endeavors to tackle that question by doing that very thing–explaining Jesus to the lost.
Well-written and thorough in what it attempts to cover, From the Garden to Eternity uses Scripture to demonstrate the fall of man, our need for a Savior, Who that Savior is, and how to obtain that salvation in the first place.
Those who do not already believe may find the content a bit circular in its reasoning. The Bible says this, so this is so, and you need to believe it because it says so. Look, as a Christian myself, I understand the value in using Scripture to interpret Scripture and to determine the truth for one’s life, but to those who don’t believe, it isn’t always effective as it is presented in this book.
However, the Word is sufficient.
Where I had my biggest difficulty came in the introduction. The author wrote:
This little book of wisdom is meant to present you with the whole counsel of God, from your birth to eternity.
I take issue with this. It is impossible to be presented with the whole counsel of God by leaving out most of it and adding your own spin on it. I am aware that one could charge me with semantics, but when it comes to God’s Word, I think I might be forgiven being a little persnickety about it.
The tone is instructive but more on the informal side. Some might find it a bit condescending, but I don’t believe that was the author’s intent. I read a deep love for people and the gospel between the lines. It’s also a very short, quick, and easy read.
I’m not sure who I’d recommend this book for. A new Christian might find it helpful to have basic doctrines laid out, but then again, what the new Christian needs most is just time in the Word. Someone already hungry for the Lord who just needs more information after already having that seed sown might find this book helpful.

About the Book
Author: Pearl Nsiah-Kumi
Genre: Religious-Christian Evangelism
Release Date: June 25, 2018
From the Garden into Eternity tells of mankind’s fall from God’s grace beginning in the Garden of Eden, all the way through to one’s individual choice: Will eternity be spent in Heaven with God or Hell with Satan?
As a result of sin, mankind suffered a loss of close fellowship with God – but do not fret! The relationship can be restored in this life right into the next! God does not, however, force anyone into a relationship with Him. We are free to choose Him or the alternative: Satan.
This book, fully-supported by Bible verses, helps you determine where you are in this journey called “life”. Rest assured that God loves you and longs to give you eternal life in Heaven with Him, but you must first repent and place your faith in Jesus Christ. If you have never taken that step, please don’t wait any longer. The alternative eternity – which will be by default – will be dreadful.
Call on Jesus today!
Start the relationship that guarantees your eternity in Heaven with God!

More from Pearl
I wrote this book: From the Garden into Eternity, because I felt the need to explain step-by-step how we, people created in the image of God lost our relationship with Him, and how that relationship could be restored. Along with the explanation, I also felt the need to stress the urgency of the restoration of that relationship.
Why the urgency? It is urgent, because time is running out for all of us, and if one’s relationship isn’t restored in this life, eternity will be awful. Since no one knows how much time they have left in this life, we each need to respond to God’s love now, so we can have the assurance of a blissful eternity in heaven. Each person has to make a personal decision about their eternity.
